BRIDGING ACCESS TO ORAL HEALTHCARE: CHANGING LIVES

About Mara Smiles

OUR MISSION

To provide vital DENTAL CARE

During our annual visits to the Masai Mara National Reserve, our team provides dental care at no cost to the Maasai people. Procedures include: extractions, hygienic cleanings, and fillings.

To treat ORAL INFECTION

A majority of the Maasai lack access to adequate medical care and are unable to afford necessary medications. As a result, bacterial infection is a prominent issue within the Maasai tribe. Mara Smiles aims to treat oral infection, improving the health and comfort of the Maasai.

To educate about ORAL HYGIENE

There is a lack of dental education within the Masaai tribe. Our goal is to educate our patients about the importance of dental health and to equip them with the tools to practice appropriate oral hygiene.

To aid THE MARA PEOPLE

In addition to our medical mission, our team utilizes its annual trips to the Masai Mara reserve as an opportunity to transport clothing donations, general medication/antibiotics, and other resources to the community.

Annual Visits

Each year, we travel to the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya to provide dental care to its inhabitants: the Maasai tribe. Donations contribute to the acquisition of disposables gloves and masks as well as dental tools and anesthetic. Remaining funds cover the cost of shipping these supplies to Kenya.
